Les at Countryside Live, The Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate

On Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th October Les will have a stand at Countryside Live at the Great Yorkshire Showground. You will be able to see and purchase original paintings done by Les and also his latest calendar Yorkshire in Watercolour 2008 will be on sale too. Les will be on hand to talk about his work and answer any quieries you may have, please stop by hand have a chat. Stan will not be available as he will be on his holidays in Sheffield. *Exclusive Commissions*

Les is now able to offer an exclusive commission service. He will visit the client to discuss the project, make on the spot sketches as appropriate from which he will produce an individual watercolour painting. This will be executed on hand made watercolour paper, mounted in museum quality mount board with a choice of hand produced washlines and the whole ensemble framed in top quality continental mouldings which would be discussed with the customer. The painting would then be scanned for further use if required by the customer. All sketches and drawings would be mounted and presented to the client as part of the package. These commissions would make ideal special presents for birthdays and other occasions and certainly as wedding gifts. Yorkshire Artists Calendar

On Thursday the 25th September the Yorkshire Artists Calendar will be launched in Harrogate. Thirteen artists in total have donated an image of one of their paintings free of charge, these have be reproduced in a Yorkshire Artists Calendar which will go on sale to help raise funds for the the Acorn Charity which is based in Harrogate. The Calendar has been sponsored by Raworths Solicitors who are based in Harrogate.
Acorn supports people and their carers in the Harrogate and Ripon area and also Scleroderma Research at Leed General Infirmary. Les at Horticap in September 2008

On Saturday the 20th September, 2008 Les hosted a very pleasant work shop in the sunshine at Horticap, the day proved to be perfect and an extremely pleasant time was had by all who attended. Lunch was provided followed by a stroll in the beautiful garden and then back to work. To coincide with the workshop Les has an exhibition at Horticap which will run until the 5th October, 2008 admission is free. On sale in the shop are the new christmas cards which is a view of the garden in winter snow painted by Les. Gold Medal for Horticap

It was celebrations all round when Horticap were awarded the Gold Medal for their excellent display at this years Great Yorkshire Show. Congratulations to Phil,all his students and supporters. Les and Stan were so pleased to have played their part in this wonderful achievement. Les had a glass of wine to celebrate and Stan got so excited he had to go and water all the trees in the garden.
