Bone Marrow Donation

Shelley, Holly's Mum and one of Stan's best friends is just about to donate her bone marrow to the Anthony Nolan Trust and she is hoping to get as much publicity as possible to raise awareness to this cause and how it can save lives. Stan is a little bit concerned for her but even more concerd at the mention of bone and marrow as this sounds just up his street. We will keep you posted as to Shelley's progress. The Scarecrow

Holly, Stan and the Scarecrow Sunday 31st August, 2008. Holly and Stan had a fabulous time at Horticap last Sunday. Of course their entry was Les and Stan, and this is still on display at the gardens if you feel like a trip in that direction. Holly was awarded 1st Prize for her efforts but sadly there was not much competition for her as not many people came and supported this worthwhile cause. Les and Stan at Horticap

The begining of this week saw Les and Stan at Bluecoat Wood Nurseries (Horticap)Where Les was helping Phil and his students prepare their display for the Great Yorkshire Show. The backdrop is now complete and will be on display at the Show on the 8th 9th and 10th July. Stan had the time of his life with everyone there it is his favourite place to visit because everyone is so friendly and pleased to spend time fussing him, he in turn puts a great effort into watering all the trees for them. Les and Stan recently had a lovely walk round Roche Abbey with Gervase Phinn and listened to some wonderful stories and admired this wonderful beauty spot in South Yorkshire, which is well worth a visit. Lunchtime found them in Tickhill where Stan was allowed to sit in the courtyard of Castlegates Coffe Shop and Bistro and a most welcome bowl of water was provided whilst Les ate an excellent lunch and would recommend this as a very pleasant place to call and eat if you are in the area. However, now is a very busy time for the pair as they are off to Bluecoat Wood Nursery(Horticap) to prepare the backdrop for the Great Yorkshire Show, Stan just loves it there. Les and Stan spend most of their time visiting various parts of Yorkshire looking for subjects to paint. Often whilst they are out and about they come across a particularly good tea room or pub (which of course is dog friendly)and stop for a bite to eat for Les and a welcome bowl of water for Stan. They would like to share their finds with visitors to the web site
